Anne's Beach
Anne's Beach is located at Lower Matecumbe Key, Florida. The Islamorada Beach is dedicated to local environmentalist Anne Eaton. There are 2 parking lots approximately 1/4 mile apart on US-1 at MM 73. Anne's Beach features a shallow swimming area, covered picnic tables, boardwalk and bathroom facilities.
This Keys Beach is located on the Atlantic Ocean, but there is almost no wave action, due to the wide expanse of shallow water typical for Florida Keys beaches. Visitors can enjoy the clear and warm waters year round.
Typical of Anne's Beach is the shallow and warm to very warm waters all year around that one can stay in for hours enjoying the sun. The sandbar is composed entirely of calcium carbonate.
Anne's Beach is a popular destination for kiteboarders, and due to its wide expanse of shallow water, it presents a good learning environment for beginning kiteboarders.
The beach is currently closed as most of the beach and all of the boardwalk and structures were destroyed by Hurricane Irma.

Lovely new boardwalk. Terrible backwater swamp. Beach…🤣🤣 more like a sewage pit. Gross.

Needed some cleaning...some tlc would go a long way to beautify the small beach area.

Nice shaded pavilions along the boardwalk, but very mucky with all the seaweed. The water is gorgeous and there was some very nice driftwood, some birds, lizards, etc... to view while there. The small restrooms were clean and there was an area to rinse off the sand. No fees to get into the park - two small parking areas on either side of the boardwalk. I was impressed with how well maintained the boardwalk was and reccomend staying on it and enjoying the beautiful Keys water. Some people walked through the seaweed and walked in the water, but we did not. Nice place for a stroll or stop for a picnic.

It might be a nice place for a picnic and a walk on the boardwalk, but not for a swim. It smelled awful and looked worse. There is no sand, only seaweed.
