The Devil's Tramping Ground is a camping spot located in a forest near the Harper's Crossroads area in Bear Creek, North Carolina. It has been the subject of persistent local legends and lore, which frequently allege that the Devil "tramps" and haunts a barren circle of ground in which nothing is supposed to grow. It has frequently been noted on lists of unusual place names.
The owners are very sweet people. Loved our investigation night at the site (even though it rained for the most part). Just an FYI.. This is a wooded area so beware of coyotes and other wild animals ;)
This is private property, you must contact the owner to camp or visit. Be respectful, clean up after yourself, and don't do anything that is destructive to the property or that disrespects the land and owner. There's no restrooms, no trails, no anything but a simple clearing in some woods.
We visited back in 2019 or so, it was unimpressive at that time, just a circle with weeds, burned wood and broken glass all over. Now, 2022, there is a gate with "Private Property" and "No Trespassing" signs. You can still see the clearing area without going beyond the gate and could easily walk around the gate if you were so inclined. We only stopped this time because I recognized the pull off, it's certainly not worth a special trip to this location.
We visited Devils Stomping Ground and was disappointed that we could go to see it. There is a locked gate, no trespassing and private property signs. I was with a special young man whom is interested in Urban Legends drove for 45 minutes and then was unable to visit the sight. Please, if anyone can tell me how to get in touch with the owner, I would greater appreciate it. I would love for this young man to see the sight!
The place is excellent and the thought behind it is fun. However, people have littered and spray painted several trees. I plan on going for an overnight visit and intend to haul off as much trash as I can. If you're heading there, please try to keep clean.
I studied demonology for a few years & I highly believe in the paranormal, I've done research on this location during my studies & I would love to get in touch with the owner(s) of the property to see if I could camp here for a night. I'll even sign a waiver if you like, that states if anything happens to me or my property I am responsible. I'll even offer money as a thank you for the hospitality as well. I can't imagine how many people stay on your property with or without your permission so I figured I'd offer you something in return for the nice gesture.
Friends and I went a few months ago. First time there and it wasnt what I expected. Found a great Geocache and it was worth the trip.
I rode by there in August of 2021...there was a No Trespassing Sign up. How do I get permission to go in?
My friends and I would like to camp out Saturday 10/30/2021 for Halloween it will be a total of 5 people. How much for the group
