Cascate del Serio
Die Cascate del Serio können mit einer Gesamthöhe von 315 m als dritthöchster Wasserfall in Italien gelten und als einer der höchsten in Europa. Er liegt wenig oberhalb der Gemeinde Valbondione in der Lombardei und wird gebildet durch den Fluss Serio.Der Wasserfall besteht aus drei Stufen mit jeweils 166, 74 und 75 Metern Fallhöhe. Er befindet sich im obersten Val Seriana nicht weit von der Quelle auf einer Höhe von 1.750 m in den Bergamasker Alpen.
Im Jahr 1931 wurde in der Nähe der Barbellino-Staudamm zur Stromerzeugung errichtet. Das Wasser des Serio wurde zum Barbellino-Stausee umgeleitet, als Folge fiel der Wasserfall trocken. Im Jahr 1969 vereinbarte die Gemeinde Valbondione mit der Stromgesellschaft ENEL eine zeitlich geregelte Öffnung des Wasserfalls. Die Wasserzuleitung erfolgt zu festgelegten Uhrzeiten für jeweils eine halbe Stunde an fünf Wochenenden in der Zeit von Juni bis Oktober. Die Zeiten können auf der Internetseite der Gemeinde Valbondione oder des Val Seriana eingesehen werden.
Zur Entstehung des Wasserfalls sagt eine Legende, dass eine junge Frau im Dorf in einen Schafhirten verliebt war, der jedoch bereits ein anderes Mädchen liebte. Aus Eifersucht nahm die junge Frau das Mädchen gefangen und schloss es in eine Burg ein. Das arme Mädchen begann zu weinen. Der Tränenfluss war so stark, dass er den Wasserfall erschuf.

They are located 100 km north of Milan, 50 km from Bergamo, near the village of Valbondione, in the Bergamo Alps (Italian: Alpi Orobie) upper Valle Seriana, Province of Bergamo, in the alpine Lombardy region of Northern Italy. Located at 1751m MAMSL, the falls are composed of three main steps, respectively 166, 74 and 75 metres tall; taken together the falls have a drop of 315 m (more than 1000 ft).

We went when they opened the waterfall. It takes about 2 hours of walking to get there and see it. So calculate times. We haven't nearly reached the end. Climb and it is not easy but feasible for people with a little breath. But I assure you it's worth it. If you go in the autumn you will find beautiful colors. Lovely place. Bring a packed lunch because a refuge where you can eat is not so close. The waterfall isn't always open. They only open it a few times a year. So it's nice to be able to see it. I have to go back next year, to be able to see the beginning of the waterfall opening. This time I am equipped and well in advance.

Siamo andati quando hanno aperta la cascata. Ci vuole circa 2 ore di cammino x poter arrivare e vederla. Perciò calcolate tempi. Non siamo arrivati quasi alla fine. Salita e non è facile ma fattibile x le persone con un po' di fiato. Però vi assicuro che vale la pena. Se vai in autunno trovi bellissimi colori. Posto incantevole. Portatevi pranzo a sacco perché un rifugio dove poter mangiare non è tanto vicino. La cascata non è aperta sempre. La aprono solo qualche volta al anno. Perciò è bello poter vederla. Ci devo tornare anno prossimo, per poter vedere inizio della apertura di cascata. Questa volta vado attrezzata e in largo anticipo.3 years ago -

Meritano la visita! Si arriva a Valbondione, alle porte del paese ci sono i ragazzi dell’associazione ai quali pagherete 5 euro di parcheggio sia in auto che in moto. Parcheggiate in uno dei parcheggi indicati sempre dai ragazzi. Per arrivare alle cascate ci saranno 3 sentieri. Quello più agevole per bimbi e inesperti, è una strada sterrata e si prende da via Curó, chiedete alle persone del posto.2 years ago
