Sasan Gir, englisch The Gir Forest National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary) ist ein Naturreservat in Gujarat, Indien.
Only place in Asia where lions still exist. Book your tickets at the entry gate and it would take about 2 hours to complete the route on Jeep Safari with a guide. There are five routes, any one of them will be assigned to you. Must visit place once in lifetime as specially if you are wildlife lover.
A great jungle with diverse fauna...it is without doubt a great feeling to enjoy the sight of the majestic Asiatic lions...in only one safari we were fortunate enough to get a fleeting glimpse of a leopard as well...

Did you know there are around 400 Asiatic lions left in the wild? They live in the Gir Forest of India. Would you like to save them?
Amazing experience. Early morning Safari is best option. We were lucky to spot Lion from up close. Plan atleast two Safari, because wild animals are unpredictable and there is no guarantee to see Lion. You have to be at starting place by 5:30am sharp. Morning time activity of lions are more so there is a good chance for spoting them. After noon generally they sleep. Our Guide was awesome helped us with all the queries about asian Lion and Gir in general. He is a very good spotter as well and knows the movement of Lions. Better prepare for dust and but if early morning chill wind. Jeeps are okay, but can be very bouncy at times. Always book jeeps in advance. The forest open jeep safari is a good one especially for kids. You can witness a variety of deer species, wild buffalos, variety of peacock species and several other birds. Earlier the safari, more the chances for witnessing Asiatic lions. The 6 am slot and the evening slots are the perfect ones. Don't go for afternoon slots as the probability of witnessing lions are mere. A cap and glasses are highly suggested Since it's an open jeep safari your hair will get drizzy due to the sand and dusts on the safari routes.
