Beautiful area on the doorstep of your home! Just a 40min drive from Sydney central areas this park is massive and incredibly stunning with its hills, valleys and water ways. The roads around it are also great for cycling and very picturesque to drive along too. The sunrises are also pretty special and one of the only places in Sydney to capture the balance of morning mist which is captured in the valley basins and colourful sunrises in winter. *Disclaimer Note: Aerial shots of the park taken on the edge & flown from private property in Terrey Hills outside the parks borders.
So so beautiful- a must visit place for all the hiking lovers like me. Go and visit this place but on a bright sunny day… I enjoyed paddle boating a lot.. it was so much fun.
My go-to getaway on the Northern Beaches. So many tracks and Aboriginal heritage sites. The sites are sacred and are of great value to our history and Australia's indigenous culture, so they should be treated with a level of respect. I get prehistoric vibes everytime I drive / walk through this park. PRO TIP: Chuck the Jurassic park theme song on and enjoy. Nature provides the goods!
Around 14 trail walks to offer, a beautiful lookout (west head lookout) and a sunkissed water source to enjoy, all offered by this national Park.. lush green, fresh air, relaxed mind is all you take back from here.. must visit..
Very good trekking spot especially for families with young children. There is a boat shed offers boats. You can hire (before 4PM) to go around Lane cove river. Plenty of spots to stay and spend a day. You can also reserve places for party , which has covered benches and cured grass areas and close to toilets. Especially for birthday parties and get together. There are many native birds(fauna and flora) and information displays to feed to your curiosity. The trekking paths are on both sides of the river and reaches the river banks as well.
$12 entry, a bit rich but you only really do it once. Go early because there’s a lot to see and many places to stop. Start your own adventure here. The scenery is outstanding!
Loved this national park. Less famous than other ones so not too crowded. Easy to access from Sydney in less than 1 hour. Lot of nice easy walks. We went to the lookout at the end at first. You have an amazing view on Palm beach in the other side. Then we did 2 different walks.
The America bay track is not log, only 2 Km two ways. However, it is a bit tricky specially if you have kids. Doesn't have stairs, just rocks and some even road. The lookout is amazing! Entry fees $12
