Nationalpark Sierra Nevada (Parque nacional y natural de Sierra Nevada)
Der spanische Nationalpark Sierra Nevada, auf Spanisch Parque Nacional de Sierra Nevada, schützt einen großen Teil der Sierra Nevada in den Provinzen Granada und Almería der Autonomen Gemeinschaft Andalusien. Der Nationalpark wurde 1999 eingerichtet und umfasst eine Fläche von 86.208 Hektar. Er gilt als repräsentativ für die mittleren und hohen Lagen eines Gebirges im Mittelmeerraum. Mit dem 3.482 m hohen Mulhacén liegt hier auch der höchste Berg der Iberischen Halbinsel. Oberhalb von 2000 Metern fallen drei Viertel der Niederschläge als Schnee. Die Winter sind kalt und die Sommer heiß und trocken. Der Nationalpark Sierra Nevada ist besonders für seine reichhaltige Flora mit zahlreichen Endemiten bekannt sowie für den Bestand des Iberiensteinbocks.

Came just to go up to the mountain and see some snow and the teleferico was 19,50€. Good amount of snow and will come back to learn some ski!

Absolutely amazing place to visit! Whether it's for a quick walk or a few days overnight - I would highly recommend! We walked up Mt Mulhacén over the course of two days; staying at the refuge at 2,500m Walked up to the summit for sunrise and were met with unreal views. Absolutely phenomenal!

Very nice place to visit. Very calm and close to nature. Lots of herbs are there. Apple, walnut, berries trees everywhere. Natural water resources. Awesome view from hill tops. Tourists can roam around by cycle also.

The Spanish nature is preserved in this wild and bare place. Walk to the peak and you see the beautiful Mediterranean Sea and Africa!

By area small by height big mountain range. You can get there quickly by car from Granada. It is amazing for cycling trips, hiking or skiing in winter. Views from the top are wonderful - especially when there is already snow but down in the valleys is still warm.
