Santa Lucía de Tirajana
Santa Lucía de Tirajana ist eine Gemeinde auf der Kanarischen Insel Gran Canaria. Sie hat 73.328 Einwohner (Stand 1. Januar 2019) auf einer Fläche von 61,56 km². Sie liegt südlich von Las Palmas de Gran Canaria und nordöstlich von Puerto Rico. Die Nachbargemeinden sind Agüimes im Norden und San Bartolomé de Tirajana im Süden und Westen. Ihr Gebiet ist schmal und länglich gestaltet und reicht von der Küste bis ins Inselinnere von Gran Canaria. Der Ortskern selbst liegt in den Bergen, am oberen Ende eines Barrancos. Aufgrund der günstigen Lage ist genug Wasser vorhanden, sodass das Tal grün erscheint und Palmen wachsen können, und im Zentrum ein Park mit üppiger Vegetation angelegt werden konnte. Wo die Wasserversorgung nicht vorhanden ist, dominiert Ödland. Vom Ortskern erstreckt sich das Gebiet hin zum Atlantik, wo mehr Einwohner und Unternehmen angesiedelt sind als im Bergland.

Nice little town that takes a lot of curvy roads to reach. In the middle of this town you find a nice park, with a lot of different trees and a perfect view at Santa Lucia's church.

Nice park with fountain and many beatiful places. Good small playground for children. Good for a walk with family. Recomanded.

One needs to stop and look around to fully appreciate the beauty. If you just pass buy in a car or bicycle, you will not notice it. Just go into the small park, walk up the stairs to the church, perhaps have lunch at the Mirador restaurant (make sure to get a table in the terrace).
